WW1 Artists Self-Portrait Show

this is a call to all you WW1 artists out there...
mike o? mike b? russ, robert? tim? jonathan? jim? mark? carroll? sreiko? steve? pete? (oh man, forgive me for the other artists i'm missing here). c'mon you guys! i need your participation.

this is short (48 hour) notice for my third annual self-portraits show of various artists in the area. it's just a two hour show that's happening this saturday at noon until 2 pm (pacific time). the purpose is just for fun and comaraderie of artists. i want your participation, too, since you guys are my artist friends, too.

my only rules are that your self-portrait must be done very recently, and on 8 x 10" paper, panel, or photo paper or other flat surface and unframed. if you guys can draw or paint one up quickly, scan or photograph it and post it here, i'll print it out and hang it in my show. and i'll report back with the comments from the other artists and patrons who attend the show. i'm sure we'll get some of our members here to throw their two cents in, (lord, help us .) so, how bout it ? it can be realistic, abstract, a caricature, a quick pencil sketch, a photo of yourself or whatever you want it to be. and you could even sketch a ww1 plane in the background in it. or it could be a picture you flying the ww1 aircraft. just so it's your self portrait.

there are no prizes and it's just for fun! c'mon please do this for me and for the other forum members to see self-portraits of all their favorite artists, right here! now, who's up for it?

btw, i haven't started mine yet. am going to do it tonight.

Awe....

I entertained the idea of a speed challenge....Ok, I actually started one..in 3D..it's a neat idea.(me, flying about Seattle being chased by Godzilla. Yay! mayhem and destruction Lol, but then I quickly realized that I couldn't get it done in time.

Here's a test render..the character/me...the Dr,I was only a stand in..the idea is for a toonish...pixarish look. Note..my "Incredible's" style chin =P

and..this is from a different project..He'd be placed in the background..

lol, he's not done either..

It might be fun to work on this further...lol with everything else I want to do

I doodle conceptually.....and it usually doesn't involve humans...so a sketch might have been entertaining...I suppose I could have sent a photo.. but I think that a 3D render would have been more fitting, given it's my chosen medium...

Probably most needed more time I bet. I think its a fun idea...

thanks to those of you who have voted in the poll and thanks to tim for posting your 3-D self-portrait start and sreiko for yours, although i think your image may be too big to post as any more than a red X for most if not all to see. i was able to view it by right clicking on the X, then scrolling down to properties, copy/paste the address off it, then pasted it into the address bar above, hit enter and it appeared quite large. good job. did you do it in a digital paint program?

well, here are three pics from our saturday display of self-portraits of our local artists. it was such a beautiful day and warm for january, so we decided to host it in the garden.

and here's my always funny, friend and artist, jerry, at age 91 going on 39. he's hanging mistletoe he found lying in the street that had fallen off of one of the trees.

I voted "other". Too many other obligations right now for me to break off and work on a self portrait. I did one a few years ago that turned out really nice, but I don't have an electronic file of it, and besides, you said "very recently".

In the meantime, these are the closest things I have to "recent" self-portraits:
