My Gallery
need help with a finish
Can you guys give me suggestions on how to simulate a finish on this to look like a wing section.

I have been experimenting with water based varathane and have a PC10
mixed [lamp black and ochre] with acrylic.Any help would be appreciated

It seems that you just add more yellow ochre to make it "browner"
I agree the brownish recipe somehow looks better. I will for sure post the final product

You could mix a color batch in butyrate, let it sit in the sun until it fades to the shade you want, then seal it with a clear coat. Or go ultimate and do it with nitrate dope, but watch for flamability.
