Enemy Ace Rides Again!

Dear Forum gang, In the lastest Edward R. Hamiliton catalog, several years of the Enemy Ace comics are put together in one volume. I'll check back when I am downstairs for the cost and the catalog number.

You all should be able to locate this item and their other WWI plane books at their website, which is also the name of the company. Their website contains an amazing number of books about military aviation in WWI and WWII.

These Enemy Ace strips are very hard to locate according to members of the Forum. I will also post a similiar thread on the "Book" section of the Forum. VR, Scott Price, "Memento mori."

In recent years DC has re-published all of the classic Enemy Ace stories in two different formats. One is a fairly cheap paperback single "Showcase Presents" volume, with all of the comics reprinted, but in black and white. I have this book, and it's an affordable and unique way to view the old stories. This book includes ALL of the original von Hammer stories, which includes work by artists such as Russ Heath and the great John Severin besides the classic Kubert stuff (and some artists and stories which I would just as soon they'd left out, including a Batman/von Hammer crossover!). I think this is probably the book that Roadhog is talking about; Edward R. Hamilton is probably cheaper than Amazon.

Amazon.com: Showcase Presents: Enemy Ace, Vol. 1: Robert Kanigher, Joe Kubert: Books

In 2002, DC re-printed the first ten classic stories by Kubert, in magnificent color and a deluxe hardback, in "Enemy Ace Archives Volume 1":

Amazon.com: The Enemy Ace Archives, Vol. 1 (DC Archive Editions): Robert Kanigher, Joe Kubert: Books

This was followed by Volume 2, which includes ten more stories - including one by artist Russ Heath, and the three-part story of von Hammer's encounters with Steve Savage by Frank Thorne. This is also a full-color hardback:

Amazon.com: The Enemy Ace Archives, Vol. 2 (DC Archive Editions): Joe Kubert: Books

I'll Check To See Which One

Dear Greg, I will check and see which edition Edward R. Hamiliton is offereing tomorrow when I am down stairs. I knoe it sounds funny but with my ankles and knees I plan each up and down two flights of stairs that are killers when you have to use crutches. Thanks for the Info. VR, Scott
