The rendering came out very well, but I'm finding a couple of things in the composition to be distracting --
1. The Tripe pilot looks wrong. I think it's a combination of the funnel-shaped collar and it looks like he's sitting too high in the cockpit. His neck looks elongated. I'd ditch that collar and drop his head a little.
2. The tail of the SE5a looks odd with that checkerboard and no serial numbers -- is that authentic marking? I just don't associate that kind of paint scheme with a frontline SE5a. And for as close as we are in viewpoint to the SE5a, there's hardly any surface detail showing.
3. Somehow it looks too static which gives away the 3D modeling & rendering technique. It would help if the ailerons, elevators and rudders showed some more deflection corrsponding to the plane's maneuvering -- everything is just too dead-on straight. And maybe a touch of motion blur. The smoke off the SE5a would trail out past the Tripe; the smoke showing looks like something's burning on the ground on a breeze-less day.
