Etrich Taube drawing

This is a piece that I've been wanting to get to for a while. I actually did the perspective drawing for it back about a year ago, but never had a chance to develop it any further. With the GWAA Fly-In coming up I decided to go ahead and work it up as a drawing to take with me. I'll probably end up developing it further into a painting at some point.

Etrich Taube
16.25" x 9.25"
pencil on vellum

Thanks guys. Well, turns out it won't be coming to the GWAA Fly-In with me. Just sold it to a collector in the UK.

Another great drawing Russ. There is something magic about some of the early planes that later cleaner and more powerful plane con't touch.

I notice that the ribs look very prominent in this drawing. Was the Etrich Taube one of the planes that used wooden battens to hold the fabric to the ribs?

Thanks Steve. That's a raking light coming in directly from the side, so I think what you're referring to is the slight shadow on the "shady" side of the ribs. I may have it wee bit too pronounced.
