Correct markings and profiles

In general are you confident about data published in publications?

How important to you are the exact - correct markings and profiles?
Are you satisfied with what is generally accepted or do you always searching for further reference?

My ambition is to achieve some consensus on markings and profiles that are attributed to less known or unpublished aces. We all have to accept that after almost 100 years of publishing and decades of Internet, it would be surprising to discover significant amount of new evidence.

I am also aware that publishing some of ‘generic’ material might also do some harm to the ‘heraldic of the aces’ in general. Wrong and uncertain markings and profiles can be repeated until they become commonly accepted and thus also harm course of further study.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers!
