I see that Grub St have just reissued this classic book, which I would urge everyone who hasn't already done so to read. Yeates was a Camel pilot in 46 Squadron: so what do Grub St have as the cover illustration: an SE5a. How true to form.

Hi Alex,

we picked up the amusing SE5 on the cover some time ago - see the Film & Book section. I would also recommend you to the thread titled "This one's got a camel on the cover" for the forthcoming privately published "Winged Victor", a bio of Yeates.

Maybe it's because we English care about historical accuracy!
Mike,
Please send details about the Yeates bio.

Alex,

here is the link to the Winged Victor thread (I hope):

Winged Victor

I don't have any more news other than that I believe the author was trying to decide whether to sell it from home, with a Paypal account for the rest of the world, or to let Cross and Cockade sell it.
