An Airman's Wife

Just got it from Grub St. It's composed of letters between Bill Bond (No. 40 Sqn) and his wife Aimee' including some of her thoughts after he was KIA in '17. A bittersweet volume, all the moreso because nothing is known of her postwar life.

Hello:

This would be a reprint of MY AIRMAN OVER THERE published in 1918. Very good. Interesting stuff about marksmanship.

Dave: right you are; several references to gunnery, which was not terrific. 10% hits on a ground target in one instance.

Interesting to compare Bond's record in the appendices with his entry in Above the Trenches. The latter credits him with 2 destroyed and 3 OOcs whereas in the current book he's 3 and 4.
