Cross & Cockade
See the latest incarnation of the Shuttleworth Collection's Pup, finished as an RNAS machine built by Beardmore - resplendant with a full set of Le Prior rockets!
Contents include:
Colour work from Barry Weekly and two
very nice paintings from Russell Smith on the back cover.
The feature on Anti-Aircraft guns is concluded and contains some amazingly good photographs, the clarity and detail is incredible. My favourite is a German 24 cm gun mounted on a large railway wagon. (Always a sucker for anything that mixes aviation and steam railways)
Part two of Memoirs of a Russian Aviator, again superbly illustrated with excellent photographs and colour artwork by Harry Dempsey and Mikhail Bykov. Contains another railway shot, this time of the 2nd Corps Aviation Section loaded onto flat wagons.
A translation by O'Brien Brown from Flieger Im Felier "Jagdstaffel Boelcke/Jagdgeschwader III".
A feature on Robert Norman Fawcett, an Aussi serving with Y Squadron in Egypt in 1919.
And finally, the usual "fabric", "recce" and "bookshelf".
Oh, nearly forgot, also the minutes from this year's AGM, I was there, were you?
Can you afford not to subscibe?
Mike
