C&CI vol 36 No.3 2005 Now Out

Yes, the latest Cross & Cockade is now in circulation, bearing a superb cover painting of a Short Seaplane and HMS Vindex.

Inside we have:

Pioneering Torpedo Training at East Fortune 1918 (apart from the usual Sopwith Cuckoos there are Blackburn Blackburds, Short Shirls and Sopwith T1s)

A bio of Canadian, Thomas Gifford Holley of 23 Sqn RFC

Part 3 of the highly acclaimed Memoirs of a Russian Aviator (some very interesting colour profiles by Mikhail Bykov and Richard Ansell)

The search for an HP 0/400 crash site

Bio of Australian Andrew King Cowper MC

NCO Pilots in the RFC/RAF by Jeff Jefford

Propeller Numbering

Plus the usual From the Albums, Fabric, and Recce

Finally, two interesting watercolours by Barry Barns on the back cover, I particularly like the Sopwith 1.5 strutter flying over a battleship or dreadnought (Big grey warship!!!)

All in all a superb issue.
