If you are really pressed for cash, I think there is a downloadable version somewhere of "My Flying Life". I'll look to see if I can find it.

Udet's KREUZ WIDER KOKARDE, JAGDFLüGE des leutant UDET.
Greg:
I was going to add this little known volumn. The cover illustrated by German artist Claus Bergen. The publisher is Verlag Gustav Braunbeck,G.m.b.H. I have a copy. It is in reasonably good condition. I have struggled through hi story. Some very good illustrations of the Albatros D.V aircraft of Jasta 37, Die Udet-Staffel! Some day I'll sell it.
Blue skies,
Dan

I recently bought a copy of the Van Ishoven book of Udet, in English, thru E Bay. I paid about $20 for it. (It was an discarded library copy from Australia). It took a while to find in English. The book was pretty good, but I thought that it followed his own autobiography too closely and offered few new insights.
I would agree that Udet may be due for a new biography. Anybody care to tackle it?

I Vote for Greg to do a Udet Book
I have been hoping Greg VanWyngarden would tackle a book on Udet since he has a large number of Udet images and nearly everything written about him. I am sure Albatros would love to have a new ace book to follow its earlier four volumes on Voss, Guynemer, McCudden, and Richthofen. How about it, Greg? Know where there are some great Udet paintings for use in the book, too.

I'd buy a copy and it would have a wonderful home in my library!

yeah, I was surprised that Grub Street didn't have "Under the Guns of Udet"... the thing about Udet, though, is you could write a whole book about his WWI career, or his WWII career, or the interwar years... I've seen some fairly good History Channel documentaries about Udet's suicide (okay, really interesting--not sure how "accurate" it was).
Udet is fairly underrepresented in the literature. and Lowenhardt doesn't seem to have too many books about him either.

I vote yes
Well,
I for one would happily buy a book on Udet.
In the past 10-15 years we have been inundated with books about MvR. I think it's about time for Udet.
