Over the Front Membership Time...

A gentle reminder...

With volume 20/3 going to press we traditionally stick in a membership renewal form. I just wanted to remind folk that that time is coming up, that you can also renew on-line at www.overthefront.com, and--if you don't want to renew on-line, but want to get a jump on it--that you can download a renewal form in *.pdf format from the site. Oh, and you can also renew your Cross & Cockade membership if you haven't done that yet.

I will pass that on to the Membership Secretary. You should have received 2 issues so far this year. You may also want to drop him an email at membership@overthefront.com to make sure he's got your current address.

Well that makes me feel better, I think: if the membership sec. can lose Jim Deitz' address/membership what chance have I got.

I sent an e-mail to the membership secretary a few weeks ago to ask why I had not received my issues yet and he still has not replied directly to me yet. I have had a copy of an e-mail sent from the Cross and Cockade Membership Sec to the OtF Membership Sec confirming that I had taken out joint membership last year but so far no apologies or confirmation from OtF that any magazines are on the way. I appreciate that the work is voluntary but how do you expect to retain members if a reasonable level of service is not maintained?

Jim, I just sent off an email to you regarding your membership.

Paul, when I talked to our membership secretary he was under the impression that he'd gotten your membership taken care of. He was out of town at the time but will be contacting you when he returns.

Jeff, hi.

I still have not heard from the OtF Membership Sec but I do not have access to the net from home and it can sometimes be a week before I can access my hotmail account from the local library. Since Hotmail dump unopened mail after 5 days unless it is from a known sender it may be that I missed his e-mail. I'll see what happens over the next few weeks.

OTF Membership Time

Hello Kugelfang, as a long time OTF member (former Membership-Secretary) i used to enjoy receiving a yearly Membership List which helped me keep in touch with other old members and helped me make new contacts with shared interests. it has been six or more years since they have been made available. is there a reason??? is it too costly??? you should know that past lists helped me find two near and dear friends which i would not have known otherwise. i would hope that one reason for OTF's existence is to build and broaden the members community of shared interests. please let me know what you think about this. many thanks. cheers, august

Hi August,

No, I don't know the reason distribution of the membership list was dropped. But you're not the first person to mention it in the past few months so it might be worth reconsidering.
