Harleyford Publications

Hello,Everyone,
I still have several of the Harleyford Publications WW1 aviation books, originally brought out in the 1950's and '60's. I was keen on the topic of WW1 modeling then, but shifted away for many years. The interest has been rekindled recently, and I am wondering just how valid these references are in the light of more up to date research over the intervening years. For example, the "Fighters" and "Bombers" books provide what appear to be very accurate 3-view 1/72nd drawings: how do these stand up to more modern research? Comments gratefully received. Thanks in advance!

Harleyford....

These old.... books, all the "collection" had the great advantage to have very, very accurate drawings.... I had a lot of time "occasions" to constat this....
My Hareleyford collection... is on best place of my "library"

Hold on to your Harleyford books, their not bad at all.About 20 years ago I scratched built a 1/28 scale Pfalz D.III using the scale drawings from "Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War" and it came out real crackerjack.

I buy extras whenever I see them and then I tell my wife that they are worth a lot of money and to sell them when I die!

Gentlemen, All,
Many thanks for your responses. I have no intention of letting any of the Harleyfords go, I just wanted to get opinions on the currency of the information. Evidently, they are almost as current as they were when I received them those many years ago. Interestingly, one of them, the "Air Aces of the 1914 - 1918 War," has been assembled with the cover upside down: no damage as such, but a bit of a rarity. Thanks again for your help: this retread newbie appreciates your comments!

Harleyford books

Gentelman, I have two of these books. Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War and Reconnaissance and Bomber Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War. The covers are not in great shape but the books are fine. I am moving and clearing out a lot of stuff I just don't use and as much as I enjoy having these books the truth is I just don't have a need for them. Anyone care to make an offer?

I'm interested in the Reconnaissance and Bomber Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War;
Since the covers are not in too good of shape, would you take $50.00 for it?
Where are you located?

Danny
