You got me beet. I and picked up mine from Ebay some years ago for $50.00. The thing I like about it is it has a clear book cover in it preserving the jacket. Oh ya I do like the one you have singed by Alex..

and when it comes to WW1 art I have always enjoyed aviation art that’s whey I support all you WW1 Dr.I artists on my site.

It would be great to have the publishers to reprint some of the masters like the book I call my bible "The Fokker Triplane" by Alex Imrie. Now theirs two on Amazon one for $185.00 and the other for $875.00. Thanks god I have one in excellent condition.

Yikes! I've worked my copy pretty hard, but at those prices I guess I'd better start treating it a little better!

With regard to WW1 Aero Journal, published and edited by Leonard Opdycke, write to 15 Crescent Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (phone 845-473-3679). Please visit their new website www.worldwar1aeroplanesinc.org and check out the AeroForum. The French aviation magazine AVIONS, although not focused on WWI, usually has one excellent article about WWI aviation in every issue. It's well worth subscribing to. Cheers, agblume

How is Alex's book on the Fokker Triplane superior to Paul Leaman's?

Breguet- Loved your book by the way. The two Dr.I books are totally different. Both were the result of years of hard effort and research and are must haves for serious historians. Alex' has fewer but generally superior photos (higher res) with quite a few coming from Manfred Thiemeyer's huge collection and Paul's has many more photos, which makes it a Dr.I image hunter's paradise. Paul's book had 10 years of extra material to work with and has color illustrations and three view drawings, a few of which have minor errors. Paul's book has very useful tables on known Triplane data. Both books have mistakes, but Paul has more mistakes simply because he put much more material with mistake possibilities into his book. Second editions of both books would be a huge benefit to Triplane enthusiasts. If I could have my druthers, I would have made Alex' book larger and longer with more photographs and carefully lined up the text with the photographs, and I would have made Paul's book longer so the photographs he used could have been much larger.

Let me make myself perfectly clear, I love both these books and would not be without either. The perfect book has yet to be written, but these are both excellent books.
