Recommended books for articles on Immelmann and Voss

Dear Forumites,

I'm about to write two modest articles for a Dutch history website and they are both about WWI aviation. The site, geschiedenis.nl - Voorpagina, generally produces short articles on a myriad of subjects aimed at (high) school pupils and interested lay people.

The first will be a short biography of Max Immelmann linked to the Fokker Scourge. I feel they are connected so closely, one can see the Scourge parallelled in Immelmann's career.

The second will be about Werner Voss and I might throw in a few paragraphs concerning his rivalry with MvR in the numbers game.

I would like to ask you Forumites to recommend proper literature about both persons. My personal library offers enough fragments on both men, but no monographs which would make my work easier. As a matter of fact, other than Franz Immelmann's "Eagle of Lille", I've little knowledge on any monographs concerning these aces. Please list as many of them as you can, since the Dutch libraries might not have all of them available for me.

Kind regards and thanks in advance,

Reinout

Anyone, anyone at all? Are all the Immelmann and Voss experts on holiday or enjoying some Paulaner downtown?

Well, I hope someone has some titles to add. I´ll be doing most of the library work tomorrow and a few pointers would be gratefully received.

P.S.: Tom, I already mailed you at your Yahoo account. I´m looking forward to anything you want to share with me.

Kind regards,

Reinout

Many thanks Kilian and Tom Crean!

You´ve given me a lot. I´m sure even Dutch libraries will have some of those books. I´ve been notified that I can start ordering books tomorrow instead of today and I am glad to have such an extensive list available to me now!

BY the way Tom, I got your packages. Did not have the time to sift through them today, but the morrow will come of course - thank you again.

Kind regards,

Reinout

Dear Reinout, Give me your actual e-mail address and I will start putting together the photos and sankes that I have on Voss and Immelmann. I'll get my wife to scan them (I am a computer dinosaur) early next week and then we will e-mail them to you. Hopefully I can help you in the photo department. VR, Scott
