60th Anniversary of the Black Knight's Death

Hi everyone,

Today happens to be the 60th anniversary of the death of Eduard Ritter von Schleich, and because of this, A&S Publishing has decided to release a limited edition print that celebrates his extraordinarily colorful and distinguished WWI flying career.

By using an original press release photograph taken in 1918, overall sharpness and clarity were maintained, resulting in an image that truly exemplifies von Schleich’s prowess as both a highly regarded unit commander and celebrated fighter pilot. Measuring 8.5” x 11” and printed on acid-free glossy photo paper, the artwork is suitable for framing, and would compliment any aviation-themed room or den.

The new print will be included FREE OF CHARGE with all Rampant Lion orders taken between now and December 31st, 2007 (sorry, it is not available for separate purchase). The print will be mailed separately from the book due to its overall size.

As an added note, A&S publishing will not be able to guarantee delivery by Christmas day of standard orders taken after December 12th, 2007. You may select domestic priority mailing to better the odds of its arrival by December 25th. Just click this link that will take you to the order page:

EDUARD RITTER VON SCHLEICH

Laura and I want to thank all of you for your kind support during this past year, and we are also grateful to have met so many of you at the OtF seminar in DC and the Dayton fly-in. We can only hope that 2008 will bring the same level of joy and accomplishment as the previous year has for us.

God Bless,

Darren

Hi Darren..

Thanks for posting the very nice photo. A little resizing, a pass through the color copier at a high res setting, and I now have a splendid paste-in for either the front or back cover of Rampant Lion!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just two weeks left!

Hi all,

I wanted to remind those of you contemplating what to get a loved-one this holiday season (or yourself for that matter!) that there are just two weeks left of A&S Publishing's 'special offer' which commemorates the life of Eduard Ritter von Schleich. Everyone who purchases a copy of Rampant Lion will receive a free high-quality print of the 'Black Knight' that can be hung with pride in your 'war room'

EDUARD RITTER VON SCHLEICH

If you have ever wondered what type of life Ritter von Schleich experienced, it would behoove you to purchase my book. I feel that you will come away with a new understanding of this prolific ace.

Regards,

Darren

Hi All,

I bought this book at Dayton and met Darren and Laura. The book is a terrific read, packed with facts, backed up by exhaustive footnoting and yet it reads so well. Darren has that knack of weaving his facts into a fascinating story.

Thanks Phil, you make me blush

BTW, it was very nice talking with you in Dayton.

Regards,

Darren

p.s., Laura is doing quite well now. While her surgery didn't turn out as expected, she is currently under the care of the U of M Medical Center and will start radiation therapy very soon. The experts have ruled out another surgery, and chemotherapy as well. Thanks for all the prayers.

Tribute To The Black Knight

Hi Darren,

Since reading your book, every time I see a fotograf of Eduard Ritter von Schleich, I see a man of good character that I feel that I know.

I like what Der Grüne Flieger said:"It reads so well.'

I wish the very best for you and Laura (and the kids).

Wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, Jay
