Talking Location of Books

Mates,

Any idea as to where I might find the following (complete with no missing pages):

1. Stürme und Luftsiege (Attack and Air Victories) Berlin 191 ---Adolf Ritter von Tutschek

2. Das letzte Mal in der Luft ---Lothar von Richthofen

3. Vom Jäger zum Flieger --- K. Schäfer

4. Richthofen’s Rival ---Ralph Baker

Thanks in advance.

I'm slightly stunned to learn either Lothar von Richthofen or Karl Schafer had written books. I assume they must be exceedingly rare or they (particularly Lothar's) would be heavily quoted.
Up until now I have never seen either even referred to.

I could not find this book in the various library catalogues. Are you sure that it was written in LvRs name?

Lothar's book

I am familiar with the work by LvR. I don't believe that it's a book but more like a long article and has been translated into English. It may be part of Ein Heldenleben. I will look through my files to see if I can find out more.

Back from a successful search! Lothar's article was originally published in Im Felde Unbesiegt, Vol. 1. It was translated to English and appeared in Over the Front, Volume 14, #3, Fall 1999.

Vom Jäger zum Flieger: Tagebuchblätter und Briefe, by Karl-Emil Schäfer, published 1918, Druck & Verlag August Scherl, Berlin, 117 pages.

I have never seen, nor heard, nor found referenced on the Internet book search services, a book titled Richthofen's Rival, by Ralph Baker. Do you have any further details of this book?

Frank.

I'll Hit the Books

Dear Tommy, I will hit my sources and see what I can dig up. If we can find these babies it will be a gold mine for all of us. VR, Scott

Mates,
I think that I have found a source for Richthofen's Rival, by Ralph Baker, in the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, they apparently have a copy in their archives. Will call them later tonight and see how much it will cost me for them to get me a copy.

Although a little late, the book of Schäfer is also in the collection of the Library of Congress.

This is what Schäfer's book looks like.
It is an edition published in 1918 after his death.
