Albatros_Ace,

It is a must have for anyone who is interested to become intimately familiar with the nuts and bolts of the DVa. They did a good job breaking up the restoration into segments and then explaining each in depth. It is getting harder to find, but if you can get your hands on it, do so.

If you can't, I have a copy and would be happy to look a detail up for you. Just let me know.

Phil

Excellent, and really interesting. Lots of detailed drawings, (the best available on the Albatros I believe), photos of the restoration as it was underway, and a good account of what goes into a first rate restoration. I think it is well worth some serious money for someone who is interested in this airplane.

3 copies?

I assume all 3 have haemmoraged at the seams and fallen to pieces?

Mine did- apon opening it for the first time!

Nevertheless it is a handy book to have and an excellent resource if you can rustle up a copy from somewhere. Actually from what Ive heard elsewhere and experienced "rustle" is a good word, the book will probably have become unstuck and fallen to bits.

You must have found a black sheep... my copy is perfectly bound after years of handling.
Definitively a must have!

Yep- mine also, and also the copy of a buddy of mine. I've kept the individual pages together in a folder. Even if the thing hadn't exploded on about the third opening, by now it would be a collection of loose leaves anyway since I've used it so much.

The great advantage of having Mikesh's Albatros book as a fistful of leaves is that one can make photocopies without the danger of breaking the spine. Ransom
