Autographed Books: What are they Worth?
I just did a quick inventory of my book collection and have the following books that are autographed by the authors and/or notable people. Although I'll never get rid of them, I was wondering if anyone out there would have an idea what they are worth, if anything. Here goes:
Above The Bright Blue Sky - signed by E.W.Springs! It's a 1928 edition limited to only 150 copies, this one is #53!
Reflections Of A Pilot - signed by Len Morgan.
Tex Johnston: Jet Age test Pilot - signed by Tex Johnston.
To Fly And Fight - signed by "Bud" Anderson.
Destiny - signed by Erik Shilling.
Tale Of A Tiger - signed by R.T. Smith.
On Boyingtons Wing - signed by R.W. McCurg.
Once They Were Eagles - signed by R.W. McClurg.
Bye Bye Blacksheep - signed by Masarjiro Kawato.
Aircraft Aircraft (1967) - signed by Cole Palen, Dave Fox & Dick King.
The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome - signed by Cole Palen.
The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome - signed by Kay Bainbridge, Rita Palen, John M. Miller, Paul Richards, Bob Tator & Herb Hodge.
The Skies Over Rhinebeck - signed by Dick King, Bill King, Dave King, Jim Hare, Ken Cassens, Dan Taylor, Larry Potter, Brian Coughlin, Stan Segalla & Gene DeMarco.
Happy Landings,

Fantastic collection!
Wow, that is a very impressive collection! As with any collection, it is only worth what someone will pay for it. I wish I could be more specific. I can't suggest a price for you. Prices for such things are very subjective, but it is a very impressive collection.
Best wishes, David.

It's not the easiest book to find in any condition - priceless
All estimates based mostly on quick internet search, except for the Springs book, and are only a sampling of what I found today. Prices are really subjective.

Hey Dan, I had no clue this book was printed in such small quantities. I have a pretty fair copy although not a signed one. Any Idea what this one might be worth? In my online pricing guide I estimated it $12-$22.. is that reasonable? (all my E.W. Springs book cost me between $10 and $20 on ebay)
My Springs Books:
Warbirds (1926)
Nocturne Militaire (1927)
Leave Me With A Smile (1928)
Above The Bright Blue Sky (1928)
Contact (1930)
Clothes Make The Man 1933)
Dan, could you give me an idea which others of these might be considered rare? Thanks.
Also, for anyone interested in the life of Elliot Springs, I really recomend "War Bird - The Life ASnd Times Of Elliott White Springs" by Burke Davis (1987, The University Of North Carolina Press). Springs was simply an amazing character and this biography is nothing short of riviting.
