Photos Needed for OTF Rare Birds Series

Fellow Enthusiasts,

I manage the Rare Birds series for OTF and am asking for your help with photos of these rare airplanes. Those of you who have seen the series know what to expect; photos, text, specifications, color profiles, and 1/48 scale drawings of airplanes that have been little documented until now. The biggest challenge is getting enough reference photos, so I have decided to ask the people with the greatest interest and resources for your help. We are researching more airplanes for this series and would like either high-resolution scans of the photos or original photos (which will be scanned and returned). Scans should be at least 300 dpi, but 600 dpi is preferred. The file format can be either TIFF (preferred), JPEG, or whatever Photoshop will open.

Please email/snail mail photos to me at the address below. We are currently looking for photos of the Brandenburg W.19 and GW; Friedrichshafen FF41A; Gotha WD14 and GL series; Albatros G.II, G.III, and C.XV; Hannover CL.V; Sablatnig SF2, SF5, and N.I; Lübeck-Travemünde F2; SIA 9b; Morane-Saulnier T; Letord 1, 2, 4, & 5; Rumpler G-types; LVG C.VIII; Caudron R.11; AEG C.I and C.II; and Roland D.VII through D.XVII. All others are welcome and photo credit will be given. Specifications and other information are also very helpful and welcome and will be acknowledged.

See the forthcoming Autumn issue of OTF, #24-3, for our next in-depth feature on the Brandenburg KDW and its developments.

Thank you in advance,
Jack Herris
