Hey Balloon Buster,

Thanks for posting George's great two-pager from Blazing Combat - you saved me the trouble!!

By the way, as far as I can determine - both John Severin (at 87) and his kid sister Marie (80) are both still with us, thankfully. I believe John even stayed active in the comics field until fairly recently (??). They're two of the last of the EC greats...

That's good to hear, Greg. I really hope they know how much enjoyment they brought to a lot of us back in the Silver Age of Comics! I've still got a couple boxes of old Marvels and DCs that I never threw out. Didn't have too many ECs- my folks were afraid they'd warp my mind.

I wish DC would collect all of the Steve Savage books into a deluxe hardbound like they did Enemy Ace. Also collect all of their other asst WW1 stories into TPB form.

This is a great section (as a person who collects comics and art)
The earliest piece of WW1 comic art I own is from the late 40's early 50's by Lou Cameron from a filler story i nthe back of a Fiction House fight comics - called famous fighters. I don't have the comic just the splash for that 3-4 page story I wil ltry to shoot it and post it in the near future.
In the meantime here is a page of Jack Davis art I own from Aces High

And here is an unpublished G8 cover from the series done a few years ago (I think it ran one or two issues) by the guy who owns the copyrights to G8 Out of I think Illinois
Got this in a trade from a friend of Tim Truman the artist who worked o nthe story- this issue was never publsihed due to poor sales.
