Book-series 'AIRFIELDS & AIRMEN' recommended?

Hello!

On several occasions I stumbled across a series of books dealing with WW1 airfields:

"airfields & airmen" or "airfields and airmen"

The publisher is Pen & Sword Books.

Although they seem not to be very expensive I would like to know if someone has already read them and if there are recommendations (or not).

Any remark is welcome!

Hello Volker,

As I've said in several other threads, this is a superb series of books. If you're someone (as I suspect

) who likes to go searching for old airfields and the graves of airmen of all nationalities, this is a WONDERFUL series.

Or, if you're just interested in great stories of aerial engagements and actions, with lots of photos and maps you cannot find elsewhere, it's also a great series!!

I highly recommend all of them.

Hello Volker,

I highly recommend all the Airfield and Airmen books. I used them since 2004 to travel to the graveyards of many pilots in Belgium and France. Last week I used

Airfields & Airmen: Arras

to visit the graves of McCudden and Little. I will post several pictures of the visit this week.

Mike O´Connor not just tells you how to get to the cemeteries, but gives also a lot of information about the pilots, their victors and the aerodromes they used.

Again, highly recommended.
