Day Bomber books

I'm looking for any books written by Pilots/Observers who operated Day Bombers, particularly RFC/RNAS late WW1 (DH4's, DH9's, DH9A's etc) - any anyone reccomend some? I've already got almost an entire bookcase dedicated to night bombers on Fee's and Handley Page's, so would be nice to equal it out a bit!

Cheers, Rob

A couple I would recommend are:

"In The Teeth Of The Wind" by CPO Bartlett. Author flew Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutters and DH4's over France from September 1916 April 1918. Superb first person account.

"First Of The Many" by Alan Morris. It's the story of the formation and operations of Independant Force in 1918. Frightening just how badly mauled were the day formations of DH4/9's.

Thanks Pips - I ordered another one of CPO Bartlett's books, 'Bomber Pilot 1916-18', is that much the same as 'in the teeth of the wind'?

I think I may used to have 'First of the Many' if i'm right, did it only mention the day bombers? If so, I found it very dry and boring so flogged it off on ebay!
