RFC/RNAS/RAF Day bombers, Reference material

I know i've asked this before, but i've broadened it out a bit so hopefully will get some more suggestions - i'm looking for reference material on British day bombers - especially anything written by pilots/observers. I have 'Bomber Pilot 1916-18' and 'The Chronicles of 55 Squadron', can anyone reccomend any others? There's also the Naval & Military Press reprint of a history of 99 Squadron. Anything else which isn't related to a certain Squadron and/or buy aircrew is of interest to go along with 'First of the Many' and 'The origins of strategic bombing' which I already have.

Many thanks, Rob

Cheers Dave - shame there doesn't seem to be many (any?!) personal accounts written by day bomber pilots/observers aside from those i've mentioned, quite surprising especially compared to the amount by night bomber crews (Green Balls, Night Raiders of the Air, Down the Flare Path etc etc). Even the amount of documents/sound recordings in the IWM is a lot lower than that for night bombers

For more information on the Independent Force, consider some historical information online, including:

Gazette Website: PDF Navigator (and continuing through page 138).

Pioneer Pilot by Armstrong has a section on Armstrong's service as a day bomber pilot in 110 Squadron.

Noffsinger lists an unconfirmed book by Williams (55 Squadron) entitled "With the Rollo Fours" which looks like a memoir, but I haven't ever seen a copy.

Many units dropped bombs in addition to other duties. There are any number of books that may have accounts of bombing, just not with the four day bomber squadrons on the Independent Force.

Also, are you interested in bombing by seaplanes? The Cuxhaven Raid had bombing during the day - unsuccessful, sure, but bombing. R.D. Layman wrote a book about it.

No time to look further right now.
