is it him,

is he on this forum?, does he post?
It would be wonderful to thank him for his amazing books!!

really , so it is the man himself who posts here!!

well, Good day to you sir, I have just started your book "Early German Aces of World War One", this was where I wanted to start as I have always believed one should estatablish one's chronology, i.e structure in learning history helps to ground one and makes life alot easier, this has become less fashionable particulary and unfortuanately in England over the past 15 or so years but I was educated some time ago, knowing ones dates and begginings gives meaning and strength of arguament.
I became interested in the Air war of 1914-18 when I was 13, we did this as part of the old C.S.E History, we did Military type history at our school; we we next to the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst- our equivalent or your West Point, so that may have influenced it, a familiy friend of ours chose the teachers-he was a world war one veteran!, the amount of books on the subject in the early 1970's were few, so I now have to learn alot now at the age of 53! more than I did back then, mostly reading your excellent books.
My interest in the Air war got me the highest pass possible at the qualification I took, so it was an interest which served me well, and men who should be remembered -on both sides.

My best wishes to you and I will go through your posts if I may tomorrow and see some of your replies.
