Jasta 5 Brisfit
The Bristol Fighter captured by Jasta 5 and used as a hack -- I was under the impression that it was repainted overall in the staffel's bright green color. Is this right?

Captured Brisfit.

In reviewing the photo in "The Bristol Fighter" by J.M. Bruce, Vintage Warbirds No.4, Arms and Armour Press, 1985, pages 22 and 23. The top surfaces appear to be painted white. The sides of the fuselage, fin and rudder are some mid color, possibly green. There is a contrast between the side color and the crossfields on the fuselage and rudder. Blue skies, Dan-San PS. Anything new? |

Is the photo in The Bristol Fighter the same one that is in Jagdstaffel 5, Volume Two, Photo 66, page 3?
The latter book indicates the "Nicht schiessen!" may have been black and the "Geute Leute" perhaps black and red, but these are speculative. Any opinion as to the text color? |
