Halb. D.II and D.III camouflage.

Angiolillo:
Halb. D.I and D.II machines initially were camouflaged in the Day Sky Scheme. The Day Sky Scheme in regard to the Halb.D.I an D.II was the plywood and metal surfaces were painted to match the color of the clear doped bleached linen which was a yellowish white.
When Idflieg directed the adaption of the terrain scheme for top and side surfaces with the sky scheme for the under surfaces. Halberstadt commenced painting the Halb.D.II abnd D.III machines in dark green and rust brown with sky blue on the undersurfaces. Hannover and Aviatik apopted simular schemes on the Halb.D.II aircraft they were making under license.
Blue skies,
