Was painted Datum Line on all Fokkers

Did all Fokker fighers come from the factory with painted datum lines on the sides of the fuselage. If so did the line remain on the aircraft during service?

Thanks in advance

The fuselage datum lines.

Barry in Arkansas;
In the 1916 Bau-und Lieferungsvorschriften für Militärflugzeug (BLV.) The Manufacturing and delivery Instructions for Military Aircraft specified that a 10 mm wide black line be painted on both sides of the fuselage on the engine axis. The length was not specified. On the Fok.DR.I the line was 1 meter long painted on the fuselage center-line aft of the air intake. On the Fokker built D.VII the line was 1800 mm long.
some manufacturers installed a level rest at each end of the line that projected outward, so a level could rest on them, taking the work out of trying to hold the level on the line. When fuselages were over painted, so was the level line. It purpose was to establish the aircraft setup level longitudinally. The lateral leveling was across the longerons or engine mount beams. On plywood covered fuselages the engine beams projected forward of the front former and the beams would provide a rest for the level.
All aircraft after 1916 had the level lines.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
