Art?

TAZ

Rodney Gerrard ART - that about sums it up in the most kind way I have heard.

I wonder how people are going to take to my work on Grover Loening's early efforts for the USN? It is all taken from original documents, however when you can author a number of books (Take of into greatness & Our Wings grow faster to mention two) pointing out how great you are and get them published, you are well in front of the poor guys who did the inspecting and tried to make his ideas practical.

Taz, well said. But I wished I had never brought up the subject, and I think it's time we just let it rest. There's so much more interesting and important things to discuss. since I started this thread, please let me finish it: Lets move on.

Rodney's art.

Led Zepplane:
There is another aspect to periodically bringing up Rodney's art (Thank you Colin.). These faked documents and pieces of fabric are still floating around. After the publication of the article, "All that Red" by Alan Toelle in Cross & Cockade International, exposing them to be fakes. Those that had them in their collections were stuck with worthless trash. Some tried to unload them on other unsuspecting people. Some were successful in their deceit. Those I feel for. A time to time reminder about Rodney's art is a good thing for all who are involved, now and in the future.

Dan-San:

Does Paul Leamen own most of Rodney's collection? and do you see a more thrall publication on how each piece in the collection and how it has impacted history and what we now know of them.

My Gallery
Paul Leamons collection.

Lloyd:
I know Leaman had accumulated a number of Gerrard's art, how many I don't know. Paul told me he traded a Sopwith Pup Propeller for some quantity. I have no idea what Paul now has, I am not aware that he has sold any, I think Paul is more honorable than to stick someone with known junk.
