Boelcke E.III personal marking

Hi!
I knew that Oswald Boelcke had his personal marking (bigger white field under the fuselage cross) on his Fokker E.IV, but today one of the friends form the WWI List posted the link to this photo:

Cool, isn't it?

BTW, I think that this photo is been sold on E-Bay now (but I have no connection with the seller/buyers).

Cheers!

My Gallery
Ltn. Boelcke's Fok.E.IV.

GrzeM:
That is the prototype Fok. E.IV 122/15. Ltn.Boelcke received this machine on 15 January 1916. It is the lead illustration on a CD series "Aces Of the Pour le Merite". Volume I will be the Aces who were awarded the Pour le Merite in 1916 and 1917. Volume II, 1918 and Vol.III Aces who were put in for the Pour le Merite but did not receive the award because of the end of the War.
I am hopingto have Vol.I out in April.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Hi Dan-San,

Could you tell us more about your CDs? I would be interested to know the cost as well.

Thanks,

Darren

And if thats "clear dopped linen"....................

I'm a weasel in Ralph Lauren underpants!

Reseda Green!

Or is this another case of Orthochromatic film missrepresentation?

Time to change my underpants and frighten another rabbit to death, then!

You are right, Dan-San!
I mistook it for the E.III, maybe because of the late night...
Thank you for correction.

BTW, if it's "reseda green", I'm blind and I know nothing about photography.
Even the white fields under the crosses and the rudder on this photo are very dark. And the wing is very light.
The cause is light conditions, normal thing in photography.
Here I vote for CDL.

Fok.E.IV 122/15.

GrzeM:
Ltn. Oswald Boelcke's Fok.E.IV 122/15 was clear dope on unbleached linen. The color would be beige, greish tan. Reseda green???? Where did that come from? Hogwash, polite form of Bul-----! I think this goes back to Rodney Gerrard and his art!
Bull skies,
Dan-San
