MVR's Albatros D.II

Hello Forumites, Was looking for any information on the color markings for Manfreds' Albatros D.II. as of November 23rd, 1916. Looks like D.IIs from that period were of natural wood varnished fuselage. And green, light green, and brown cammo on upper wing surfaces. Light blue under. Anything that would have been "distinct" about that aircraft would be helpful. Don't know aircraft number either. Thanks for your help, TeeKay.

MvR's Alb. D.II...

It had a 3-5 in wide white vertical band around the front fuselage right behind the front spinner and nose ring metal panels. The fuselage was a bit darker than the Albatros D.I aircraft in the unit at the same time, which had lighter varnished finishes.

MvR's Alb.D.II 491/16.

Thomas Kepple:
MvR's Alb.D.II 491/16 was in the standard Albatros 3 color camouflage of pale green, dark olive green and rust brown on the top surface of the wings tailplane and rudder (pale green). The under sides of the wings and tailplane and wheel covers were sky blue.
His identification marking was a 80mm white band edge on both sides of the white band with 20mm wide black edges.
I have a 3 view color drawing of this machine @$10.00 plus $1.50 for P&H U.S and $3.50 on foriegn orders.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

MvR's Alb.D.II491/16.

redalb2253:
MvR did not paint Alb.D.II 491/16 red. The markings he had on D.II 491/16 was a white band edged in black aft of the nose cowl. The Alb.D.III he took with to Jasta 11 became "le Petit Rouge". It was this machine in which thje wing cracked during combat. I think the number was D.III 2062/16, I am not positive about this.
