Vzfw Schmid's Albatros DV Jasta 32b - Photos?

Hi all,

Does anyone have any photos of Vzfw Otto Schmid's Albatros DV that he flew in Jasta 32b? I have Bob Pearson's profile of the aircraft showing it had a black tail with lozenge wings, rudder and elevator and a black eagle insignia on the fuselage (the eagle insignia carried crosses on white fields on its wings).

I understand that the book "Aus der Chronik der Jagdstaffel 32" has photos of this aircraft but as I do not have ready access to this book I was wondering if anyone had any scans of this aircraft they could post here or e-mail to me. I am particularly interested in any photos of the eagle insignia.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

BC

I think you can find several shots of this bird in some recent issues of Over the Front courtesy of our own Greg VanWyngarden. Maybe he will chime in here?

There are two different Albatros D.V aircraft flown by Schmid with similar markings. One took a direct hit by Flak in the engine area just below the guns and damaged/broke some of the cabane struts, etc. The second aircraft had a different eagle marking, similar in appearance coincidentally to that which appeared on Frank Linke-Crawford's Oeffag-built Albatros D.III 153.11 and 153.16.

Hi all, I would like to thank Greg VanWyngarden who very kindly sent me some pics of exactly what I was after.

Greg, you are a Saint!
