Madon's Early SPAD XIII

I'm looking for info on Madon's Early SPAD XIII with the red fuselage. "Yellow" wings? Five-color wings? Early meaning with the round wing tips.

TIA!

Don't have my refs w/ me, but

IIRC, wasn't Madon's red-fuselaged kite a cannon-armed Spad XII??

Greetings Rob:

He had several Spad types. a XII, and at least 2 XIII types.

Hello Matt

The Spad XIII you are looking for had "yellow" wing.
I know one picture of this aircraft. The problem is there is a group of pilots (including Madon) in front of it so no details of the fuselage or tail can be seen.
What is visible is :
Rounded wingtip with light undersides,
Dark painted front fuselage (including radiator cowl and underside).
The radiator cowl has small oval holes at the bottom.

According to Mortane (in "Carré d'as"), Madon flew a Spad XIII in August 1917, that would be a very early machine, in the S50x range or even S49x. That month, Guynemer was flying S504 and Deullin S501.

Thanks to all.

So it sounds like a safe bet to paint the entire aircraft "yellow", except for the all-red fuselage, yes?

Excellent. It couldn't get any easier.
