John- The aircraft in the photo is actually an Albatros D.II, distinguishable from a D.I by the splayed cabane struts and lower positioned upper wing. The D.I had the upper wing higher and used Albatros C-type trestle cabane struts. You are in luck, though, because one of our markings experts, Dan-San Abbott, has published an article in the Forum on Alb D.II colors and markings.

See also the aircraft section of the Forum for more details on the D.I and D.II.
Welcome to the Forum and I hope we can provide good information for you. Our model section contains links to several modelers' sites who have done Alb D.IIs in correct colors if you would like to see color images.
The D.I and D.II were introduced virtually simultaneously and the better visibility of the D.II won out and it was produced in much larger numbers than the D.I Eventually the D.II was built by both the Germans and Austro-Hungarians.
