Alex- Alex Imrie and I are in regular contact and I speak to him about every two-three weeks or so. We usually talk about Dr.Is and his new Fokker D.VII book. Alex' knowledge on WW-I German aircraft is encyclopedic, but new information and images do surface. He and I discuss this new info all the time. It used to be a three way conversation involving Peter Grosz, but unfortunately we lost Peter.

The Doggy Picture has th German Field Tents in the background. I offer the following comments. Richard Wenzl captioned the picture being taken on 21 April 1918, MvR's last day. No one has considered the possibility that Wenzl had erred on the date and place. Jasta 6 and 11 had started changing to the balken (beam) cross in the photo taken on 26 March 1918 (Alex Imrie's dating) at LeChelle. The Idflieg directive specified the cross change to be finished by 4 April 1918.
It is my opinion that this photo was taken at Avenes-le-Sec or Awoingt airfields. I just got out of the hospital on Monday, and I don't want to get into another discussion about Dr.I 477/17 and 425/17. It's just my opinion!

Dan-San,
I hope you are well after your hospital visit and that everything is all right. Hope for a speedy recovery, whatever ailed you.

Doing Better now.

Tcrean7828:
I am much better now. I had two stents blocked amd two other arteries. They rotor-rootered me (Angioplasty) and I can now walk a block without getting exhausted.
This is a regular every three year happening.
Thanks for the concern.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
