Raoul Lufbery's Nieuport 28

Where might information on Raoul Lufbery's "Number 2" Nieuport 28 be found? I have Squadran Signals Nieuport Book and Windsock Datafile 36 on the Nieuport 28. These show cameo shots of Lufbery and his plane, but the overall markings are left out.

I'm building a 1/4th scale Balsa USA Nieuport 28 and thought instead of doing Rickenbacker's #12 which I think has been done enough, I'd do one a little less known.

Hi Mode 1,
Great to hear you are doing my favorite WW1 ace's aircraft. There were decals for Lufbery's white 2 in the Glencoe 1/48 scale kit, and a profile on the back of the box if I remember correctly. Another color profile of it is in the book The Hat in the Ring Gang by Charles Woolley. There were no personal markings, finished in 5 color camouflage with hat in the ring 94th squadron marking on both sides of the fuselage right behind the cockpit and the white 2 on both sides of the fuselge close to centered between the front and back of the plane. It has either a red or black shadow outline. Tail stripes are white/blue/red.
Hope this helps, I don't want to scan & post the profile since it is a copyrighted book unless Mr. Woolley will give his permission!
Thanks,
Dave

Is the book The Hat in the Ring Gang still in print? I built Glenco's N-28 but decorated it #16 from the 94th. I don't know who this is. Has Peason done this airplane?

(Answered my own question by clicking on the link, which the book's name becomes in the above paragraph. The book is out of stock and a bit spendy just to get information on Mr. Lufbery's aeroplane. I'm certain it is well worth the price and a great book to have and I'd enjoy reading very much, it's just a bit out of my price range at this time).

Raoul Lufbery's Nieuport 28

One option for camo and marking schemes for the 94th AERO is to get
'Over The Front' V.6 #2 - Summer 1991. This issue contains an article detailing 'all' the known schemes, 27 photos, 17 black and white drawings and other info.

For Lufbery's #2, I've only found two partial photos, one the left side with Luf in the shot (same as in the Datafile), the other a right side shot. Neither show much more beyond the insignia and number. The aircraft serial is listed as N6193.

Aircraft #16 was N6178, being the one Lufbery was shot down in.
