Help Identifying German Personal Insignia

I've been offered a section of fabric on which there is an unknown (to me) emblem and weight stencils. My gut inclination tells me it's a fabrication as it's 1) almost too good to be true and b) I've not found it in my better-than-average reference library or on the internet.

I'm doing this from memory, so I offer my apologies in advance: The section of camouflage fabric probably measures about 30" x 30" plus or minus. The camouflage is faint and I'm not sure I'd refer to it as classic lozenge - it's multicolor with softer, less defined edges than the lozenge style. The emblem is a yellow or cream colored winged sword at a 45 degree angle blade tip up. The way the fabric was removed (or counterfeited) one wing is totally intact but part of the sword blade and other wing have been trimmed. Underneath is a three line weight stencil (as I recall "leergewicht" was 750ish KG). The wear is believable with crazing to the finish (which can easily be faked). I know for a fact he's owned this item since the late 1980s (which means nothing) and probably bought it at a militaria or gun show.

The sword is a completely different style than that of Rudolf Berthold's of course. I guess my question is: Is this emblem a figment of someone's furtive imagination or does anyone recognize it from my less-than great description.

From you description it almost sounds like the psyudo/ faux fabric sections that the Frank Ryder Foundation used to sell at Gunterville, Alabama 1992 -1994. I remember one was a side panel of equasized 3-4 colour lozenge with a cross and "Lude" on it Strictly for laughs they would say.

Do you have an image you can share?
