The skull in the 3 photos just above your post is larger, but I realize it needs to go from top to bottom. The stenciling I assume is the weights information decal as well as the FOK 382/18 number, right? I removed it entirely, but can make it barely visible similarly to how the cross was painted over.

I'll have to study the louvres more closely. I'll check from home tonight on my Mac. (EDIT: done now)

I'll keep working on this.

Hantelmann's Fok D.VII

iart7

Another nice Fok D.VII rendition.
Anthology 1 has an article by Dave Roberts on this aircraft including three pics taken after capture and a colour 5-view.
The red/blue dividing line should be vertical at the front of the ammo feed/discharge chutes.
And as BLOWHARD says; there should be only two louvres situated below the front strut connection. The rest of the nose panels are un-louvred.

My mistake, that was the old picture that was loading for me, and only 1. Now I'm seeing three. Much better but you do still need to go larger. The lower rear bone of the cross bones even gets chopped off a little at the lower fuselage edge. And along Cliff's comments you need the red blue demarcation should be vertical.
You're getting there
Is this your template or did you start with a game download? This is still WB DOA you're skinning? The model looks nice.

Thanks Dave and Cliff,

Your help is welcome and appreciated.

As for your comments: I've ...
1. Added the front 2 louvres
.... sorry about the extra louvres toward the rear (didn't know and will remove them)
2. Skull should be large enough now
3. Stencils are barely visible

I can make the dividing line vertical for your specifications, but may leave it as is for the game (and for my artistic license). Also, I'd like to make the stencils a bit more visible (though not much) for the game.

The skin is mine. The lozenge pattern -- you know where I got that, but I changed the colors a bit. I used default download template for correct position of objects. Gun, engine, wheel, engine pipes are by original WB artist (I think ebola, but not sure) as is the "un-paintable" pilot. Instrument panel skin comes from the lower wing fairing and can't be painted, AFAIK.

Dave, have you seen my Pitchfork Bearing Devil (Rhinebeck Museum) planeskin?

PS: to see the largest resolution images remove the Med and SM from URL.

The Windsock Fokker DVII Anthology has a very good piece on Hantleman's Fokker.

Hello Hoodoo

Good observation!
The fokker dVII 382/18 was one of the first to have lozange fabrik(5 colour fabrik for about from 250 to 400 serial number)

on the fuselage and on the tail (upper and under surfaces)
On the photo one can clearly see lozange fabrik on the elevators!
Iart7, I am afraid you have still some changes to do ....
idem for aera close to the cockpit painted in blue an not in red

cordialement
Bruno

That's very hard for me to believe. I haven't seen any clear evidence on your claims. I only have the photos printed in the reference books
