Escadrille Br.227 symbols and colors

Hi guys,
On my trip down memory lane, looking for info on North Carolina aviators during WWI I came across a fellow (who's name escapes me right now) who flew with Br. 227.
What were the colors and or symbol for the squadron?
Do you have any more NC pilots or crew members to suggest?
Where can I get a list of them? I hate to say it but I'm not really worried about aces. All I care about is that they did the deed.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Hello John

Here is BR 227 insignia, a typical french insignia as you see as it was a "Gaulois"

An American Cal Arthur Bluthenthal, is said to flew with Br 227
May be the name of your fellow ?

Cordialement
Bruno

Thanks Froggy,
Yes Bluementhal was the guy. I don't think he made much of a mark other than being a star football (American) player at Princeton but he was from my own state so I think I might just do a model or a painting.

Oh and Bruno,
The Gaulois does appeal to my celtic heritage.
We need to put this guy in a kilt! Hah!

Hey Poandneedy,
What part of the great state of NC are you from? I'm a Carolina boy too!

Best wishes and welcome to the 'drome',
Scott

Howdy Scott,
Live, work, paint and model in Charlotte. Not too much in the way of hobby shops around here either! I still dabble in trains too and it's like living in a modelling desert. From what part of the Tarheel State do you hail?

Later,
John

I'm from the Raleigh-Durham area. I absolutely feel your pain as far as hobby shops go. Most of them in my area have gone to the arts and crafts route.
Oh well, except for having to wait on them to deliver, I kind of like the on-line shops anyway. But even so, they can't replace that feeling of walking into a shop and seeing that kit that you really didn't expect to see sitting on the shelf!
best wishes,
Scott
