Fictional Covering

AS you may have read in another forum i am making a RC Albatros Dr.1 Triplane i was wondering if anyone would agree with me that a pattern from a Fokker DR.1 might be a good historically accurate Fictional paint scheme that may make me sound a bit but plz give me your thoughts on this

Albatros_Ace,

An Albatros DR.I would make a very distinctive flying model. What scale is it?

While it might be natural to connect the Albatros DR.I with the Fokker DR.I, It is very unlikely that it would have the streaked camouflage. As far as I know that was unique to Fokker, being used (if I remember correctly) from late D.III's to early D.VII's.

The Alb. DR.I was based on the Alb.D.V, so it would be finished similarly. A photo of the DR.I shows a varnished wood fuselage, and printed fabric (aka lozenge) covered rudder and wings. Though I can't tell from the photo, it is safe to assume that the tail plane is also covered in printed fabric.

It is your model, and you are free to finish it however you want. If you would like to do a streaked finish, do it, but if you want it to be historically accurate, finish it like an Alb.D.V.

As a side note: If you would use punctuation and capitalization, your posts would be much easier to read.

sorry i didn't specify very much i WILL base it on an Albatros D.V/a from Jasta "Boelcke" since it has been my favorite Jasta from WWI

Thanks for the point of view

Sounds good, and if you want to do a fictional scheme that follows Albatros practice you could do the painted fabric, light blue underside with dark green/violet or lilac or mauve (not sure the correct color purple lol) camouflage on the upper surfaces.
