Five color printed fabric.
jrslim;
Shaun, five color printed fabric is five color printed fabric. All the fabrics were printed by the same cloth mill, Idflieg, controlled the orders, dye colors, purchased and distributed the finished fabric to the German aircraft industry. There are two fabrics, an upper dark pattern and a lower light pattern. The dark pattern was intended to be used on upper and side surfaces and the lighter pattern on the under surfaces.
Oblt. Bruno Loezer's Alb.D.Va 5602/17 has a painted camouflage scheme, it is not covered with printed fabric.
Stropp, Alb.D.Va 7161/17, which is now in the National Air &Space Museum in Washington D.C. the wings and tailplane are correctly covered with 5 color printed fabric,but do not belong to Alb.D.Va
7161/17. However, the wings do not match the serial number on the fuselage, they are from at least two different aircraft, and not Alb.D.Va D.7161/17. Alb.D.Va 7161/17 is from a batch built by Albatros that were finished in a painted camouflage.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
