Celluoid windshields.

huberlu:
Celluloid windshield, are not clear, but have a slight yellowish cast to them. And after a little engine oil, and dust, they are a bitch to clean.

Dan San, I am curious, wich airplanes used celluloid windscreens? All of those I've seen at Hendon museum were glass, not bullet proof, but modern crash glass that didn't broke into splinters.

Which used celluloid windshields?

Romani:
Most British aircraft used Triplex laminated safety glass wins screens. Most German aircraft used celluloid windscreens, Albatros for example, Pfalz, Roland, Fokker to name a few. The first photo shows a celluloid wind screen very well. SPAD and Nieuport use safety glass wind screens with aluminum frames.

Dan-San
