Need Help to ID This Nieuport 24

I picked up the N24 and I can not seem to locate any info on this scheme. I am not sure if it was on the 24 or not. I want to rehab this plane but if the markings are not correct for this plane I am going to paint over it. I am open to ideas from anyone for paint colors for this plane as long as you have images to back it up. If you have an image of this plane I would really like to see what where you have.
Thanks
George
sorry for the small pic i will take some more in the morning

thanks for the info. Is the cowl silver. Looks like it might be a different color from the pic.

No, But I can tell you N91/Spa91 was a short lived unit which only saw combat less than a year. It was credited with 5 kills, 4 aircraft and one ballon.

Thanks flypaper. I have gotten the plane ready for flight now. Fixed all the broken parts and am getting her ready for flight this weekend at the Southern Dawn Partol event at Hoddges Hobbies Field in Ga this weekend. I will snap some pics of her and post them later. Still would like to find out the pilots name.

Hello
I don't agree with you Flypaper

The N91 was created on 2 may 1917,became Spa 91 in january 1918
and disbanded on 9 July 1919
6 Victories -5 aircraft+1 drachen

I search for the name of the pilot of this aircraft (may be the pilot on the
photo)-Not easy I think

Your correct except for the fact of when it was created, my E. Moreau-Berillon reference has it being formed April 1917. Other trhan that both agree I just read the kills wrong 5+1 not 5 total. Moreau-Berillon shows the bird as being black with a black "grenade" which changed later to the white skull.

Hello Flypaper

Do you mean "L'Aviation Française 1914 - 1940 ses escadrilles - ses insignes"
by Moreau-Berillon? which was Published in one thousand exemplary only?
You are very lucky indeed -nearly 600$ to-day to have an used exemplary

My source is the book of SHAA "les escadrilles de l'aeronautique militaire Francaise-symbolique et histoire" by official french military center at Vincennes near Paris

Défense - Les escadrilles de l'aéronautique militaire française - Symbolique et histoire 1912-1920

Good evening
Cordialement
