Interesting Fokker DVII Markings In DataFile

I noticed an interesting picture in Windsock Datafile 9.
On page 5 the bottom picture shows the only ply-covered fuselage
Fokker DVII built (w/n 2268). The wings and horizontal tail seem to be
covered in a small hex pattern lozenge. I can't tell the colors from the BW picture, but the hexagons are small and regular (ie even sided
and even angled), much like Naval lozenge. Only the upper wing surface is
visible. The fuselage looks like its only lacquered. The work numbers
are not visible.

The very front strut also appears to attach higher on this plane than other (fabric covered) DVII's.

Does anyone have other images of this plane? I'd love to make a model of it.

Thanks,

Jess

Wood fuselage Fok.D.VII.

JessIam;
This Fokker D.VII was built by the Fokker subsiduary, Flugzeugwerft Lübeck-Travemünde-Prival in 1918. I engineered and built with a wood fuselage. The Albatros Werke also built a Fok.D.VII with a wood fuselage. These were ordered by IdFlieg as back-up to any shortage of steel tubing.
The Fokker built machine werke nummer 2268 was covered with Kreigmarine three color printed fabric.

Excellent! Thanks Dan!

Are you quoting a source other than the Datafile? I'd love to see more images of this plane.

The front strut seems to be attached at a different point than fabric covered DVIIs.

Thanks,

Jess

The best source.

JessIam:
Years ago when I visited with Peter Grosz, He showed me this picture and we talked about it at length, I should say, "He" talked about it at length, I listened. What a loss, Peter cannot be replaced. There were two real giants, Jack Bruce and Peter Grosz, we have lost both of them! What I have been doing on this Forum is inspiration from Peter Grosz.

Thanks Dan-San,
Wow! That's a huge reference! Thanks

Would you agree the frontmost interplane strut attaches to a point higher on the fusalage than on a fabric covered plane? I want to model this plane.

I wish I knew enough 3D modeling to reproduce an image based on the same angles on the rest of the plane. That would make it easy to compare.

Thanks,

JessIAm aka Jess Stuart
