As usual Dan-San you are completely correct, i am looking at that page now and i admire your steadfast acceptance to consider theories only as theories and accept as fact only that which can be demonstrated to be factual.

This is the stamp of the true historian---not to have any truck with perpetuating myths and to demand serious evidence for serious claims.

Your methodological approach is admirable.

Dave.

Some fat to chew on.

Hi Dan-San:

I have Jagdstaffel 5 but it's the first Volume, the pages you referred to are they in Volume 2?

Since I don't have Vol.2 I have compiled my own list, can you check what I have.

Thanks...

Jasta 5
566/17
139/17
152/17
168/17
172/17
554/17
558/17
592/17

This is a list that shows the known Fokker Dr.I's that were sent to Jasta 5 in (Black) and which ones that were transferred in from another Jasta unit in (Red).

I will also resend all my Jasta listings I have to you as I'm interested in what he has listed. I will have to try to get this book one day.

Lloyd...

List is from Volume 2.

Hi Lloyd:
Yes, the list is From Jagdstaffel 5, Volume 2. The list is on page 28. the serial numbers listed are: 139, 152,* 168, 172, 554, 557, 588 and 592/17.
*I do not believe Dr.I 152/17 was transferred to Jasta 5, for the following reasons,
The right side fuselage cross was not completely changed to the 17 March1918, and not at all to the 4 April 1918 requirements with the 150mm white border or to the 4 June requirement of the 1:1 Latin cross. It was last photographed before delivery to the Zeughaus with the incomplete cross, and was photographed on display in the Zeughaus with the same incomplete cross to the 17 March 1918 requirement.
Blue skies Lloyd,
Dan-San

Dan-San:

Thanks a lot for the list. Question you listed 588 is that correct because I have 558/17 listed that Vzfw. Fritz Rumey crashed in this plane. Please let me know if it is 558/17 and or 588/17.

I see that I also have 566/17 listed but that can't be since the acceptance sheet shows this to have a Goe II,no 17 (100 hp). Because of the engine it would have been most likely sent on to one of the Jastaschüle.

Thanks...

Lloyd...

Sorry I missed some.

Hi Lloyd:
I am sorry, I do not have the list correct, thee are 11 numbers, they are: 139, 152, 168, 172, 554, 557, 558, 567, 577, 588 and 592. That is the complete list.
Again, as explained, I do not believe Dr.I 152/15 was transferred to Jasta 5.
Blue skies Lloyd,
Dan-San
