Hello,
I have three photos of von Seel's Albatros D.V of Jasta 17, but none of them show the top of the upper wing very well. However, the upper surface of the lower wing was (I'm confident) in factory finish painted camouflage, and I am fairly sure the top wing was as well. I would think that the striped fuselage was distinction enough, and I doubt that the top wing would have been striped as well.
As for Hans Böhning's supposed "ace of spades" insignia, I don't know if any decals exist or not. I do know that I doubt very much that such a marking actually existed on a real aircraft. Can you reference a photo?
Very best regards,
Greg
