Aeg c.iv
I started building a AEG C.IV form Copperstate Models. I want to finish it in the colours of the dutch interned aircraft. Nico Teunissen provided me with some interesting photographs, see the Dutch IPMS forum site. The wings of this aircraft are newly covered and painted light blue with a gloss finish. The fuselage shows no signs of repair, overpainting or touching up of the insignia, so this might as well be newly covered and painted light blue. There are however a number of issues in the photographs which make me think that the fuselage might be the original CDL. The finish of the fuselage sides look remarkably similar to photo 63 of a German aircraft in the Windsock Datafile, which was CDL with olive streaking. There is a light coloured area just above the root of the lower wing which may be light blue from the fuselage bottom. The texture of the rudder looks like natural fabric and there are hints of streaking on the tailplane.
Any opinions about what it may be? Are there any more photographs of this aircraft, in particular of the right hand fuselage side and the tailplane?
Regards,
Thedo André
