Bristol scout is correct.
Raineranton:
Bristol Scout is correct, this is a Neiuprt 17C1 B'1532, C6 from C Flight, No.60 Squadron, RFC. There is another photo of this machine in Les Rogers master piece British Aviation Squadron Markings of World War I on page 119.
Blue skies Raineranton,
Dan-San

Thanks a lot for your help, Dave and Dan-San.
Well, I think I should buy this book in the next time...

Another question on Hippert's Mimmi markings
Sorry for the wrong subject that was for another thread... but this aircraft looks a lot like Billy Bishop's N.17, his was marked C 5. Was this photo from the same time period as Bishop's questionable raid that won him the VC?

Hi Rainer,
I think the identification by Dan-San is right but accidentally he mixed up numbers. The Nieuport on the photo is B1523.
It belonged to a flight of 60 Sqdn. RFC which was engaged on 14 Apr 1917 near Gavrelle. The unlucky pilot was 2Lt. Lewis Carlton Chapmann, who died of his wounds two days later received by Vfw. Sebastian Festner, Jasta 11, who claimed Chapman's Nieuport for his 11. victory.
60. Sqdn. RFC lost another three Nieuports in this fight to LvR, MvR and Kurt Wolff.
