Udet's Fokker DR1 586/17 colors?

OK I did a search but was unable to find any previous posts about this... It looks like Ernst Udet took over the black & white striped DR1 586/17 flown by Ltn. Hans Kirschstein after he returned to Jasta 6 which was equipped with the Fokker D.VII. Udet took command of Jasta 4 and flew the aircraft called the "optical illusion". He added his personal marking Lo and flew this aircraft until Jasta 4 re-equipped with the D.VII. I have seen several profiles showing this as black and white paint. But there are other profiles showing Udet flying a similar plane painted light blue and red! Is this the same aircraft? and is there any record of Udet repainting it red and blue? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I believe the red and blue scheme is an alternate interpretation that Dan-San Abbott has put forward for the same aircraft. I seem to recall a rather lengthy discussion on this not too long ago, but you'd have to do some more digging through the threads. Probably not the only one either, methinks.

Talking

Hay Greg,

I was just going through some of them and one of the things I had a laugh at was a comment that you made say that If we bring up the Udet's striped Dr.I that you don't have the time to go into it and I come back here and what do I find but you commenting... OK, Ok talking about it... LOL...

You got it right "Here we go again....."

I thought I was hearing someone pulling that nails out of the coffin on this one...I'll sit back and watch the fire works...

Thanks for the link...

Thanks for the link Bald Eagle.
Does anyone have the photo of this aircraft marked with Lo! that they could post? I saw in the previous thread the image of the aircraft when Kirschstein flew it but the image of it marked Lo! with the painted forward fuselage is no longer there...
