D VI wing tip markings

I am building a 1/2 scale D6 and would like to put the correct markings on the upper and lower wing tips....I believe they translate to "hold/lift here"???
I need a good picture or drawing and approx. size. Thanks in advance, Paul

wing tip handling markings

Hi Paul,

I don't know specifically about the D6 but the Pfalz D.XII had a white stencil at the wing tips which reads "NUR HIER HEBEN" which I think means only here push, or something like that. The stencil had a white line above and below it. It sounds as though the D6 had something similar.

Regards,

David.

Dan-San,

Slightly mispelled... should be "HIER" instead of "HEIR"

IE in German gives the same pronounciation as the "he.. in "here" in English.

1914-1918:

Nur Hier heben! means "Only lift here!"

Aaron

First photo is of an OAW-built Fokker D.VII in original markings. Second photo is similar to Dan-San's description of Fokker-built D.VII markings. I would think the Fokker D.VI had similar markings to Fokker D.VIIs.

Gary Sewall

Yep, here's more evidence. Decals for a Fokker D.VI model kit. Note the markings as described by Dan-San.

Gary Sewall
